Egypt, South Africa lead Facebook use in Africa - Telecompaper
The number of Nigerian Facebook users has increased from 400,000 in the last four years to 4.3 million at the end of December 2011. According to World Internet Stats' global 2011 Facebook usage report, Nigeria was third in terms of the number of Facebook users on the African continent, coming behind Egypt and South Africa with 9.4 million and 4.8 million users respectively. Morocco came fourth with 4.1 million Facebook users, followed by Algeria with 2.8 million users, Tunisia with 2.7 million, and Ghana with 1.1 million Facebook subscribers. The report estimates that Facebook had a total 799 million subs cribers at the end of 2011.
