Egypt becomes a major destination for outsourcing

UAE companies are outsourcing their work to Egypt due to cost-competiveness and language capabilities.

According to research conducted by Egypt's Information Technology Industry Development Agency (Itida) and YouGov more than half of respondents (53 per cent), cited the need to cut costs as the main driver, closely followed by availability of Arabic-anguage skills (50 per cent) and close geographical location (26 per cent).

As companies continue to recover from financial crisis, 94 per cent of UAE companies consider cost management as an important factor when deciding on an outsourcing destination. Other factors taken into consideration include a highly qualified and skilled talent pool (98 per cent), professionalism of client service teams (97 per cent), and a well-established and reliable infrastructure (94 per cent).
