Stream opens Cairo BPO service centre - Services - News & Features - ITP.net

The 800-plus seat centre, which was opened by His Excellency Dr. Tarek Kamel, Minister of Communication and Information Technology, will target customers in Stream's key market of CRM services for Fortune 1000 companies, with services in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Arabic.

Scott Murray, chairman and CEO of Stream commented: "Our Cairo service centre has proven to be a great addition to our established footprint in EMEA and our new facility further underlines the success that Stream has achieved in this growing geographic market for our global client base. Our new Cairo service centre is well suited to support our existing and future client base, with its highly technical support professionals and extensive language support."

The opening builds on an existing agreement signed by Stream in June last year with the Egyptian Ministry of Communications & Information Technology (MCIT) and Egypt's Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), to train and employ 1,000 Egyptians over the next three years. Stream says it is well on the way to meeting this target, having already trained 800 new personnel in the country.
