The Information Technology Industry Development Agency or "ITIDA," an organization that strives to promote the development of the IT and allied industry sectors within the country of Egypt, has announced it will demonstrate innovative offerings and collaborative multinational projects being developed by the IT industry of the country at the 2010 CIO 100 Symposium and Awards Ceremony, to be held in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.

Egypt already claims an impressive position in the fields of global outsourcing and offshoring, and the country now aims at concentrating its investments and resources towards technology innovation and entrepreneurship as well. The CIO 100 Symposium and Awards Ceremony acknowledges the organizations & enterprises that have been performing well in the deployment of technology, information management, and organizational development. The event also honors the outstanding achievements of 100 industry-leading enterprises.

At the ceremony, a panel discussion on topic 'The future of IT innovation in a multilingual, global operation' will also be held, which will be led by Dr. Tarek El-Sadany, Senior Advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Egypt for Technology Policies. Other speakers participating in the discussion will be Ahmed N. Tantawy, Director of Egypt's Nanotechnology Center, and Hisham Sanad, Chairman, CEO and co-founder of egabi Solutions.

During the discussion, the participants will analyze the emerging importance of technology innovation and key collaborations with multinational companies.
According to Dr. El-Sadany, Egypt recognizes that a country's capacity for innovation and entrepreneurship is a critical contributor to success in today's competitive global marketplace, and that is the reason that the country has invested heavily in the education and training over the past decade, resulting in a highly technical, multilingual workforce, a modern and safe business environment and cost-competitive services that foster the free flow of business innovation.

Dr. El-Sadany noted that with the government's backing and support, Egypt will help companies and organizations by providing an environment where innovators and entrepreneurs can thrive, and through multinational collaboration and partnerships, entrepreneurs will focus on building ground-breaking business models and further creating or developing existing capabilities to solve problems. Egypt has so much to offer and together with its clients, ITIDA is the guiding force for technology innovation, investment and development across Egypt, Dr. El-Sadany added.

Earlier this month, a Euromonitor International report issued in July stated that Egypt has recently allocated $1 billion to invest in broadband internet infrastructure, with the goal of boosting internet subscribers by 4 million come 2014.
