Global Arab Network | Egypt enhances cooperation with Nile Basin countries in communications, IT | Technology

Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Tarek Kamel received Egyptian Ambassador to Uganda Sabri Mohamed Magdi within the framework of supporting ties with other African states, especially of the Nile Basin.

The meeting took up ways to boost Egyptian relations with other Nile Basin states through activating mechanisms of an Egyptian initiative to develop the information community in those countries.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry will, in cooperation with the Ministry of International Cooperation, work to implement the initiative.

The initiative is meant to offer Egyptian expertise in the field of communications and information technology to neighboring African countries.

It aims to enhance cooperation between Egypt and the Nile Basin countries, said Kamel. A senior Egyptian delegation under Kamel will visit Uganda in October and a team of Egyptian engineers and technicians will also visit the east African country to discuss the Ugandan needs in the field of information technology. The Ugandan communications minister is set to visit Egypt in the near future.
